How Flock & Hive led to BeeCraft

The Beginning

Our journey began when Carolynn discovered her fascination with bees and their importance to our ecosystem and local food production. This led her to start beekeeping as a hobby and turned it into a business as it became apparent that there was a strong market for locally produced pure honey. Today, Flock & Hive is a leading small-batch provider of local honey, candles, cosmetics and other bee-related products. As for the ‘Flock’ part of our name? We also design knitting patterns and hand-dye wool yarn – we’re passionate about all things fibre arts!

BeeCraft Supply & Studio

After several successful market seasons we decided it was time to take ‘Hive to Handmade’ out of our kitchen and into a dedicated space where we could handcraft our goods, but also expand our teaching availability and offerings. In Fall 2025 we began offering classes of all kinds from beeswax-y thing to fibre arts to crafty things. And in Spring 2026 we will begin to offer beekeeping supplies, classes, and connections around beekeeping.

Our mission at BeeCraft is to provide community connection through creative arts, equipping local beekeepers with supplies and a place to offer support and engagement with other beekeepers.

We carefully select and test each product to ensure that it meets our high standards for quality and effectiveness. We are hold memberships and registrations to demonstrate commitment to safety and standards, and ongoing education and learning.
