Originally developed in the early 1900s, the 10 Frame Slatted Rack is a valuable addition for northern beekeeping, supporting both successful overwintering and swarm management. It creates additional space beneath the brood chamber, encouraging the queen to lay lower in the comb while giving the colony room to cluster—helping reduce congestion and the likelihood of swarming.
Installed between the bottom board and brood box, the slats align with the frames to promote better airflow and more natural bee movement within the hive. Ships fully assembled and is compatible with 10-frame equipment only.
