Honey, Wine & Cheese Pairing Workshop
Led by Certified Honey & Wine Sommelier Tauney Stinson
Discover how to taste honey like a sommelier in this sensory adventure that pairs beautiful Ontario honey with artisan cheeses and curated wines from Rosewood Estates Winery. Tauney Stinson will guide you through a delicious journey of flavor and aroma, and exploring floral, fruity, and other tasting notes in single-origin honeys, then matching them as a group with complementary cheeses and wines that bring out their best qualities.
You’ll learn how terroir shapes taste, how to identify tasting profiles, and how to create your own pairings at home. This workshop is equal parts education and indulgence—perfect for food lovers, bee enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys a little luxury with their learning.
Meet your host: Tauney Stinson
Tauney is the president of the Upper Ottawa Valley Beekeeper’s Association and one of the few honey sommeliers in Canada trained under the Italian Registry of Experts in the Sensory Analysis of Honey. She started beekeeping as a pandemic project and soon discovered the joys of unifloral and unique honeys. A food lover from a young age, she graduated from culinary management school in 2009 and now owns Forager Bee, a celebration of all the food, beauty, and magic nature has to offer. Tauney has given talks to horticultural societies, beekeeping associations, and community groups, and facilitated honey tasting for over 40 beekeepers at Ontario Women’s Bee Camp in 2025.
