Apivar 2.0 Varroa Mite Treatment
Apivar 2.0 is the new formulation of Apivar—the only amitraz-based apiary treatment designed to target successive generations of Varroa mites throughout an extended treatment period.
New with Apivar 2.0
No withdrawal period after treatment. Once treatment is complete and the strips have been removed, honey supers may be placed on the hive immediately.
Apivar 2.0 strips should not be used while honey supers are on the hive.
Fast, effective Varroa control
Effective Varroa management is essential to maintaining healthy honey bee colonies. Developed through extensive field studies, Apivar 2.0 is formulated to produce a significant mite drop during the first weeks of treatment.
By rapidly reducing mite populations—particularly within the first three weeks—Apivar 2.0 helps relieve pressure on the colony and supports a healthier hive environment.

How it works
Apivar 2.0 is a contact miticide. Worker bees come into contact with the amitraz-impregnated polymer strips and distribute the active ingredient to other bees as they move throughout the colony.
The extended treatment period allows Apivar 2.0 to reach successive generations of mites as they emerge from capped brood.
Easier hanging system
The redesigned hanging system makes installing Apivar 2.0 strips quicker and easier—no toothpicks required.
Apivar 2.0 also features adaptable strip lengths for use with different hive configurations, including Langstroth and Dadant hives. For Langstroth equipment, a pre-cut line makes it easy to adjust and position the strips correctly between the brood frames.
Treatment recommendations
Treat all colonies within the same bee yard at the same time to help reduce the risk of reinfestation.
Leave the strips in place for at least six weeks and for no longer than the treatment period specified on the product label. Remove all strips when treatment is complete.
Do not use Apivar 2.0 while honey supers are on the hive. Once the strips have been removed, honey supers may be added immediately because there is no post-treatment withdrawal period.
Always read and follow the current product label, including application rates, treatment duration and local regulatory requirements.
